Jesus broadens the scope of parenthood and brotherhood. That doesn't mean he disregards His responsibility in the world. Instead, He takes it seriously (Mt 15: 1-9; Joh 19:25-27; Ac 1:14). That whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother implies the buildup of a spiritual family for all of us.

"The kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force" (Mt 11:12). That's why the followers of the Lord will fall into temptations, be tested and undergo hardship. What can be our relief is that the Lord promises rest for our souls for He is gentle and lowly in heart. The Lord's yoke is easy, and his burden is light. Then the road to heaven becomes less tough since we can be comforted and accompanied by Him.

The gospel is first for the Jew, then for the Gentile (Ro 1:16). Therefore, Jesus realizes the gospel from the Lord by asking the twelve apostles to look for lost sheep. When the confidence in the chosen ones has been strengthened, then the mission to reveal the good news to the Gentile will be carried out in a more efficient way.
