所以，杖打等合宜的管教，可以生出義來。
但是，責罵則不同！
「箴 15:4b 乖謬的嘴、使人心(靈)碎。」「箴 18:14b 心靈憂傷、誰能承當呢。」
許多人的痛苦與心靈禁錮，都是因為嚴重的言語暴力而來的。
聖經提到的管教方法，相對而言，是傷害性比較少的方式。

前兩次蝗災、火災，先知為以色列人禱告，上帝就後悔而赦免。第三次準繩異象，上帝就說不再寬恕了。
雖然以色列人依舊沒有悔改，但是先知在過程中的代求，還是減少了許多災難。基督徒的代禱，很重要。

The Israelites made their money from the unjust treatment of the poor and vulnerable. Also, Israel kept the New Moon and Sabbath, but only outwardly. In fact, they rejected these days appointed by God and they couldn't wait until they were over. Besides, there was chronic corruption and cheating in the dealership. When they sold (bad) wheat, they used a small measure. When they bought or gave change, they used a large measure for the shekel.
Summer fruit is the fruit that is ripe, and will not keep long. Just as the time is short for summer fruit, so the time was short for Israel.

We know it is easy become red when you are close to red. However, it is not easy to understand we are close to red because we think it is not red. The Lord teaches us several principles of getting along with the wicked.
"Do not envy wicked men; do not desire their company" (Pr 24:1).
"Do not fret because of evil men…" (24:19).
"…it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them" (24:25).
So we should know how to distinguish right from wrong regardless of the plausible evil influence that the wicked might exert on us. Besides, there is no need to envy the temporary smoothness of the wicked since they will be cursed and denounced.

God calls King Cyrus of Persia by name before he is even born to serve Him (Isa 45:1-8). Though King Cyrus is not a Jews, he helps the exiles to return. He also brings out the articles belonging to the temple of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar has carried away from Jerusalem and has placed in the temple of his god.
Everyone can be appreciated by the Lord to carry out His audacious plan.

"But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sin year after year."
I think the people who can provide sacrifices to God is better than those people who always keep sacrifices for himself. To understand the sin can become more humble for God and others. To be one guy who have ability to provide sacrifices should always remind the cost of sacrifices.

According to the author of Hebrews, the Lord did not desire sacrifice and offering nor was he pleased with burnt offering and sin offerings. Therefore, those sacrifices were merely an annual reminder of sins because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins (Heb 10:4).
Only when Christ had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins could our sins be taken away. Because of that sacrifice, Christ has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Recently, I went to Bali island with my wife and we found there existed two different worlds in this island. One world is like the land of Canaan which located in the luxury resort hotel. Another world is like the desert which located in the poor villege. Some western people only lived inside the resort hotel and did not want to visit the outside villege. They did not want their hands and feet become dirty. Sometimes, we also only want to enjoy the beauty of Canaan and did not want to experience the difficulty of desert. However, the most unforgetable scenery cannot be found in the resort hotel. You cannot see it in the sling chair, you need to walk across the desert.

When we are living a comfortable life, we tend to forget who gives us everything. The Israelites' experience of crossing the dreadful desert and entering a promising land teaches us to humble ourselves.
Always remember that it is the Lord our God who disciplines us. If we forget Him and follow other gods, what we have will be taken away and destroyed for not obeying Him.
