The verse tells us that we should be free of evil influence, such as covetousness, the love of material things (Pr 28: 15-16), bribery, the tool of many lobbyists (Pr 29:4), women and alcohol, bane of many politicians and businessmen (Pr 31:1-5).
Evil influence spreads easily. That's why we should be careful.

The Lord says, "You should not look down on your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble"(Ob 12).
Esau is the brother of Jacob, but when Israel was in calamity, Edom did not give his helping hand. Besides, Edom was so proud that the thought of defeating others occurred.
"Anyone, then, who know the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins"(Jas 4:17). Arrogance and lack of compassion might be the two main reasons why Edom decayed.

Dear All, Peng An,
I think the temple of the LORD is the house of love where our heaven father lived in. We hope we can have a place in the house of the Lord all of our lifetime. However, we still may leave this house for the sake of our free will. When we see this house agian and we also can feel the love of Lord again. That will be a wonderful time to rebuild the relationship with Lord. Just like a lost child to see his parent again. And crying is only way to show his pleasure.

Dear All, Peng An,

However, we still may leave this house for the sake of our free will. When we see this house agian and we also can feel the love of Lord again. There might be two reasons why the older folks cried in the midst of this worship service going on. First, since they had seen Solomon's temple in all its beauty, majesty, and awe-inspiring design, this new building wasn't even close. Second, they were in such great joy to see the temple was to be rebuilt that they burst out tears.
For these old men, they definitely had mixed feelings at that moment. But In the kingdom of God, there are seasons of wealth and seasons of poverty. As the Apostle Paul put it, "I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am" (Phil 4:11-13). This was probably the lesson that the Lord wanted them to learn.

大聲哭號的是「見過舊殿的老年人」，哭的原因...
可能是抒發長久以來「被擄」的辛酸、「得以歸回」的喜樂與感恩。
可能是懊悔「從前為何不聽神的話」。
可能是重建聖殿的規模和所羅門王建的聖殿，規模差很多，以致更生懊悔之心。
可能是很久沒有「完整」的敬拜神，所以號聲一起...就哭了。
無論甚麼理由，這些老年人能在有生之年回到「應許之地」，能再一次看到聖殿重建，能再一次以「神的選民」的身分按著神所指示的方式敬拜祂，歡呼或哭號，都是感恩吧！

Sometimes, I still think about what is my faith. Is it based on the beautiful promised land? Or... is it based on the forever salvation? I think no one can tell me the answer. My faith is a rebuilt relationship with God based on his love. This is one hope to meet God and get his encouragement during this faith road.

我的好朋友1996年去世，今年他們大學同學辦畢業20週年同學會，特別把《台北和平教會》及《WOW部落格》放在他們的專屬網頁上。
我的好朋友肉身不在了，但「因著信，繼續傳福音」。希伯來書裡的這些如雲彩般的見證人，如同麥子，雖然死了，卻結出許多子粒來－－包括我們。
「昨日、今日直到永遠，耶穌不改變」，我們與聖經裡所記載的這些屬靈偉人，信靠同一位神，也必定同樣可以經歷神的信實與慈愛，求主堅固我們的信心！

I think there are two problems: one problem is why Israel people always cannot surrender to God. Another problem is why Moses can pray for those bad guys not only one time. The same answer maybe from God's love. Because of God's love, people can have complete free will to fight God. Because of God's love, people can pray for those bad guys for the same salvation. The only hope for the peace is from God's love. May Lord help me to be aware of your love in every second everytime.

害怕別人得罪神時，自己要這樣40晝夜在神面前求～～哈哈，沒有啦！該作的還是要作。
看這段經文，深深地被提醒，很多時候該負責的並不是自己，卻為了愛的緣故，願意一起承擔。而我們的信仰就是這樣。

生活中經歷上帝恩典：領受明白祂的教訓、突破難關、勝過仇敵、做出貢獻、生命有些成長、見到狀況因為「有我」而改善、教會有些復興跡象…是否會沾沾自喜，「忘了我是誰」？
「耶和華─你的 神將這些…從你面前攆出以後，你心裡不可說：『…是因我的義。』其實…並不是因你的義，也不是因你心裡正直，乃是…耶和華─你的 神…要堅定他向你…起誓所應許的話。」(申9：4-5)
懇求慈悲憐憫的主赦免我們時常悖逆、頑梗、驕傲、自義的罪，改變我們的生命，能像摩西一樣有謙卑的生命，緊緊抓住信靠上帝的應許，以從主而來的愛心、能力服事祢、服侍人，並將一切榮耀歸給祢。 janty

From these verses I learned that prayer is a powerful means of grace to the praying man, a mighty intercessor. Moses' prayers are often found relieving the terrible stroke of God's wrath. Moses lived near God, and had the freest and most unhindered access to God. Familiarity and closeness to God gives potency to prayer.
The "40 days" term is found in many religious books. It is believed that when one fasts for at least forty days he then becomes ritually clean and can then participate in any religious function. The word "forty" is also used to mean "many" in both Hebrew and Arabic. So, power and earnestness are obviously observed in Moses' praying and fasting forty days and forty nights three times.
