"Like the clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand." (Jeremiah 18:6) Yet, human beings are not pots, so our own will leads us to go astray once in a while. We may prefer to be shaped in a particular form, which is not appreciated or promised by God, and then we suffer. I have been taking the lesson of "obedience."
May God help me humble myself so as to be lifted up and saved. Amen!

草戊尚土 牧師和各位俱樂部的兄姐，平安：
今天是二月十二日，原本也不覺得這個日子有什麼特別，回家翻了這期的商業週刊才發現今天同是兩位偉人兩百歲的生日，一位是解放黑奴的美國總統林肯，另一位是發表物競天擇的英國學者達爾文，我想上帝這樣的安排也蠻有意思，林肯為了『人生而平等』的信念不惜與南方政府一戰，達爾文為了『生物自然演化』的真相不作牧師而改作自然學家，同樣有自我的掙扎也同樣有對立的爭論，美國新聞週刊稱他們為『叛逆巨人』（Rebel Giant），這讓我想到牧師曾說過一個帳棚要兩邊施力才能張大帷幕，或許很多巨大的貢獻都是在衝撞中產生。
回到今天的題目，我覺得耶和華對投靠祂的人的施恩在35章和36章也有很大的不同，在35章裡似乎遭受的苦難多了些，但是在36章裡卻又感受到無比的慈愛，不過兩個章節也有共同的恩典，便是對於 神的堅定盼望。
親愛的主，我相信您，不管是苦難或是豐盛，我相信這都是您的施恩，是要我更堅固對您的信念與盼望。

For those who turn to God with awe, God will fight against their enemies. God also delights in the well-being of His servants.
May my tongue always speak of His righteousness instead of contending for myself against my rivals. May He boost my confidence even when my prayers are not answered. "For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light." (Psalm 36: 9) Amen!

"神啊，你的慈愛何其寶貴！世人投靠在你翅膀的蔭下。他們必因你殿裡的肥甘得以飽足；你也必叫他們喝你樂河的水。因為，在你那裡有生命的源頭；在你的光中，我們必得見光。"36:7-9
雖然有些兒抽象,但心靈層面是可以體會,可以向神祈求這樣的"豐盛生命"的.

我的感想是血濃於水，大衛和他的跟隨者身上流著的還是以色列人的血，對於以色列人的王，也就是耶和華膏立的掃羅，即便是曾有過節，但是對於以色列人的戰敗以及君王被殺，他們仍是十分哀悼；尤其大衛和掃羅的兒子約拿單是情同手足的至交，大衛失去了這樣的摯友更是感到難過萬分。
我想主耶穌要我們愛人如己，也要愛我們的仇敵，大衛在掃羅與約拿單被殺後用了一首哀歌來記念他們，或許也在闡述這樣的愛吧。
親愛的主，有時候要真心去寬恕仇敵確實是一件很難做到的事情，但是我相信您，您的慈愛會撫平彼此受傷的心靈，會在憎恨之處播下您的愛；會在傷痕之處播下您的寬恕，讓我有這樣的學習，也能記念這樣的恩典，直到永遠。

"David and all the men with him took hold of their clothes and tore them. They mourned and wept and fasted till evening for Saul and his son Jonathan, …" (2 Samuel 1:11-12) He even took up a lament for Saul and Jonathan and thanked the men of Jabesh Bilead for burying Saul.
David and his followers were very shocked about the death of their master, David, who was anointed by God. David was once oppressed by Saul, so he may as well hate Saul. However, he put aside the hostility but appreciated Saul's merits. This did require a lot of courage. The brotherhood between David and Jonathan can be conveyed in the verse: "I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother; you were very dear to me. Your love for me was wonderful, more wonderful than that of women." (2 Samuel 1:26)
David's feelings toward whom he admired were fully revealed. Compared with those who are ashamed of crying and tend to hide their inner thoughts, David seemed even stronger in expressing himself.

想了很久,覺得大衛是真心哀悼掃羅之死,之前幾次可以殺了掃羅以自保,大衛選擇"保護"神的受膏者,如今掃羅死在外邦人手中,大衛寫道:"以色列的女子啊，當為掃羅哭號！他曾使你們穿朱紅色的美衣，使你們衣服有黃金的妝飾。英雄何竟在陣上仆倒！..."1:24 ~之後大衛才詢問神next step.

羅得時期，所多瑪也是犯罪，直到惡貫滿盈，神差使者前來滅城。當時，城中的人發現這使者來到羅得家中，沒有悔改的心，反而要求羅得交出人來。
神的慈悲，在挪亞時給了他們那麼長的時間。現在，他給我們更長的時間傳福音。因為挪亞、羅得當時是審判，但卻不是最後。當人子來時，就是最後審判，不信的人將再沒機會。
願神幫助我，在生活中，可以常常見證他的名，讓世人認識，願意跟隨他。

『凡想要保全生命的，必喪掉生命；凡喪掉生命的，必救活生命。』
記得牧師曾在講道時提到 Jim Elliot 對他傳教士父親殉道的看法時，他說了一句話：『He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.』
我想有些事物是無法保全的，上帝要的時候就得交回，但是卻有一個永遠不會失去的，至於要如何得到，這或許也是上帝留給我的功課吧。
神啊，求您賜我寧靜的心，接受我所不能改變的事，賜我勇氣，改變我所能改變，賜我智慧，分辨兩者的差別。神啊，求您教導我，珍惜每一天，享受其中的每一刻，以苦難作為通往平安之路。記念這是耶穌所賜，並非我配得。信靠您，降服您的旨意。這樣，我必在此生得享喜樂，將來與您一起，享受永生福樂。阿們。

In the days of Noah, people were reveling all day long. A flood destroyed them all. So were the people in the days of Lot. Fire and sulfur from heaven destroyed them all. No one knows when the Son of Man will be revealed, yet all of us should prepare ourselves as if He is to come today. When God comes back, there is no more chance to repent.
If a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die. (Ezekiel 18:21) May God help me put away the sin in my hand and make me stand firm. Amen!

神蹟奇事不足以建立成熟的信仰---以色列人，雖然親眼看見神在埃及遍地所行的十災，但是，需要危及性命之事，還是想走回頭路。在紅海前如此，在曠野之地時亦是如此。如果神蹟可以使人信靠上帝不再動搖，那麼以色列人該有最虔敬的信仰，但是事實並非如此。
法老的剛硬、自高自大。埃及人追趕以色列人，當會看見雲柱、火柱，竟不驚奇神與以色列人同在。就算法老當這些是如同他自己的術士所行的法術。難道在紅海前，面對分開的紅海，他不驚奇嗎？剛硬之心，竟使他看不見這個令人震驚的神蹟，眼中只有即將追上的以色列人。

之前看『埃及王子』的電影，也是像 JBC 姐一樣對於紅海被分開的場面感到震撼，不過今天再來看聖經的經文卻又有著電影裡無法表達的意境，我想試著分享幾點心得：
1. 不要懼怕：當以色列人看到前有紅海後有追兵時，就如我們突然陷入兩難無解，心中難免產生恐慌，但是摩西卻很堅定的告訴以色列人：『不要懼怕』。這句話其實很常出現在聖經裡面，用經文查詢查了一下，一共有出現49次的『不要懼怕』，最後一次是在啟示錄 1:17: 『不要懼怕！我是首先的，我是末後的，又是那存活的；我曾死過，現在又活了，直活到永永遠遠。』
2. 向海伸杖：『在人這是不能的，在 神凡事都能。』（太19:26 ）但是我真的明白 神要如何用我手中的杖嗎？在沒有路的絕境能完全仰賴 神嗎？如果紅海沒有分開，我還是能繼續仰望 神嗎？我想信實的 神給了摩西過人的信心，也同樣會將這樣的信心給祂的子女。
3. 神的道路：『人的盡頭是 神的開頭。』然而當紅海被分開，中間出現一條道路時，我敢下去走這條路嗎？兩旁高聳的海水隨時有可能復合，走偏了也可能會淹沒在海裡，我敢信靠 神走完這條路嗎？
4. 神的使者： 神是慈愛的 神，雲柱和火柱讓埃及軍隊無法接近以色列人，就像是在死蔭的幽谷裡的杖與竿， 神的使者一直都安慰著遭受苦難的子民，日間雲柱，夜間火柱，總不離開百姓的面前。
5. 經歷救贖：以色列人親身經歷了這樣神奇的拯救，便敬畏耶和華也信服他和他的僕人摩西。我是否也深刻的經歷過這樣的救贖呢？
感謝主，我相信您的話語就是道路，要在這樣的世代裡分開大海，救我脫離兇惡，賜勇氣給我，加力量給我，讓我能一直仰望您，信服您，倚靠聖靈來安慰我，讓我記念您的救贖，直到永遠。

昂然無懼出埃及(9節),回首見追兵(10節),哀求加抱怨(10-12節)
摩西--
鼓勵百姓不要懼怕(13節),靜聽神的指示(15-18節),彰顯神大能的器皿(21~)
永生神--
統掌一切,榮耀全能!

這對摩西及以色列百姓而言,是出埃及後的第一個試煉,"前有紅海'後有追兵".
百姓害怕是自然的反應,但抱怨就不好了,更不要成為習慣,我們可以向神哀求,但千萬不要埋怨神.當神說"向前行",腳底卻顛頗難行時,我們能做的是"神啊!賜我向前走的能力",而不是"神阿,你怎麼帶我來這裡".
摩西,站在百姓面前,知道無法用人的力量成就神的旨意,自己只是器皿,神施行大能的管道.我們也是如此,當我們看到幾次伸杖(eg.禱告)都行神蹟,更要謙卑認知是神的大能作為,而不要誤以為自己有超能力.
......
"在以色列營前行走神的使者，轉到他們後邊去；雲柱也從他們前邊轉到他們後邊立住。在埃及營和以色列營中間有雲柱，一邊黑暗，一邊發光，終夜兩下不得相近。"(19-20節)
感謝神,直至今日,神的使者'雲柱'火柱...一切的保護與引導,仍然環繞在我們的四周,即便身心受苦,我們的靈仍然安穩在神的懷裡,哈利路亞,感謝讚美神!

As a newly-oriented Christian, I was often wondering when it would be the best timing to "take action." To do or not to do: that's the question. Will I miss any "sign" from God because I am not listening attentively to Him? This verse let me realize that though praying is important, actions speak louder than words. Sometimes I know what I should do but waiting for further guidance from God has often become an excuse for procrastination.
Father God, there are so many decisions to make and I don't seem to know what is the best for now or for the future. I really need You to pour wisdom into my mind. Thank you!

I thought that the passover feast must have lots of spiritual meanings and lessons which the Israelite parents could teach their children.
I wonder whether we Christian parents could have chance to teach our children the spiritual lessons of our communion.
BTW, the Presbyterian church forbade the children to receive the communion cup and bread, which would deprive us this precious opportunity to teach our children such spiritual lessons.
I had tried to have one communion when the parents could take the grape juice and the bread with their children in our church in the special Good Friday evening prayer meeting....

Dear all,
So the heavenly feast was an invitation from the King. But every guests invited had something which seemed to be more important than this banquet. Would we treat this heavenly feast as topmost priority in our lives?
There was cost involved in attending this heavenly feast. Jesus actually invited and challenged all of us to sit down and calculate the cost involved before our decision.
Our church was in the process of church facility reconstruction. Our elder board met many times and deliberated about the cost for this new building. Even today, our elders were holding a meeting to discuss how we could gather enough fund to pay for this new construction.
Then the metaphor was turned to that of a battle. A great military general must learn how to estimate the possibiliity of winning a war before deciding whether to engage in the war.
Thus before we started our heavenly pilgrimage, we should also sit down and think through about the cost and the challenge laid ahead of us.

Passover was a big feast for Israel people. Passover was also a very significant historical event for the church. Jesus Christ installed the communion on the passover night and he gave passover a new hermeneutic. He broke the bread and raised the cup and indicated that he was the passover lamb for all of us.

『不要進入喪家，不要去哀哭。』
『你不可以進宴樂的家，與他們同坐喫喝。』---與這地的人不可有任何連結。切斷所有人際關係。
從以前就很喜歡耶利米書，他的心柔軟，感情豐富，愛以色列人。而神卻要他去宣講審判。面對他所愛的，卻要說滅亡。雖然知道以色列作了不該作的事，刑罰是必然的。可是他只想作慈母，溫柔的挽回以色列人。但是神卻要他成為嚴父，無情地傳講將要來的懲罰。
