Apollos had been born in Alexandria and he was an eloquent speaker, well versed in the scriptures.
He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and with enthusiasm he proclaimed and taught correctly the facts about Jesus.
When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they explained to him more correctly the way of God. Apollos then decided to go to Achaia. He was great help to those who through God's grace and had become believers. He powerfully confuted the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures that the Christ was Jesus.

We need someone could remind or correct us about import things timely in our life.

Paul and Silas traveled to Thessalonica, Berea and Athens, in order to preach the word of God.

They could recognize local inhabitants' thinking, and well knew some people are very religious.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and every one's fetters were unfastened.
They witnessed this miracle.
The jailer asked Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be saved?"
And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

Actually, when we encountered any difficulty, the Lord always goes with us to face it.
I have deeply appreciated from this grace.

"…The Holy Spirit and we have agreed not to put any other burden on the gentiles besides these necessary rules: eat no food that has been offered to idols; eat no blood; eat no animal that has been strangled; and keep yourselves from sexual immorality. You will do well if you take care not to do theses things. With our best wishes."

The God loves everyone who would believe him, so we could not add any criteria to limit anyone to become a Christian.

Demetrius made silver shrines of Artemis. Along with the workers in related trades, Demetrius opposed Paul because they were afraid that their trade would lose its good name after the goddess Artemis was discredited.

They disregarded their selfish motive but claimed they were loyal to the land. The riot resulted from their greediness. Patriotism and loyalty to their religion (a false god) were their excuses. In fact, divine majesty is not allowed to be robbed of in pursuit of filthy lucre.

Apollos was instructed in the way of the Lord. A learned man like him devoted himself to teaching about Jesus. He spoke with great fervor, boldness and accuracy.[a] If whoever has such talents doesn't hide himself/herself from the public, the gospel can be preached more effectively and extensively.

Paul didn't quote the history of the Jews in Athens because he knew that it made no sense to the Greeks. What he did was start with an unknown God to the Greeks, which aroused their curiosity (Ac 17: 22-23). Then he emphasized their common ground about the God (17: 24-29). Last, his focus switched to Jesus Christ, who raised himself from the dead (17: 30-31). Thus, skillful illustration will be stronger than the forced sale.

After the jailer knew his own needs, he risked turning to Paul and Silas, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved"(Ac 16:30). Paul and Silas took advantage of this chance to evangelize the gospel. They preached gospel not only to the jailer but also to his family.

The confidence of Paul and Silas was so huge that their praying and singing hymns freed them from the prison. Our confidence in the Lord can work wonders and introduce the gospel to more people.

Antioch and the Council of Jerusalem resolved the dispute about how the Gentiles should be converted with reasoning and peace. First of all, they appointed the representatives, Paul and Barnabas, to meet the apostles and elders. Then Paul and Barnabas briefed. James summarized and then made the decision.

Next, the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. A letter was addressed from the Council to Gentile Believers. Those who they chose reported to Antioch the decision.

Leaders with maturity and wisdom should intervene when a sharp dispute like this happens. It has to be dealt with fairness and impartiality. Once a decision is made, everyone needs to abide by. That's the essence of democracy and togetherness.
