Some Gentiles and Jew decided to mistreat the apostles and stone them.
But Barnabas and Paul went to other places to preach the Good News.
The crows offered sacrifice to the apostles.
When Barnabas and Paul heard what they were about to do, they tore their clothes and ran into the middle of the crowd, shouting, "Why are you doing this?
We are only human like you! We are here to announce the Good News, to turn you away from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven, earth, sea, and all that is in them…."
They strengthened the believers and encouraged them to remain true to the faith. "We must pass through many troubles to enter the Kingdom of God," they taught.

"When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Ico'nium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God" (Ac 14:22-23). Preaching the gospel is not an easy task. Without holding the strong faith will not the mission be accomplished. The disciples of the Lord like Paul and Barnabas have exemplified a good model.

被丟石頭或被高舉，保羅的態度應該是如他在羅馬書所寫的「不要看自己過於所當看的, 要照著神所分給各人信心的大小, 看得合乎中道」（羅12:3）合乎中道，也就是「不論褒貶，以神的眼光來看自己」吧！

我想回應一下牧師所言「不知道和平教會兄姐是否也預備好了，成為在台灣的安提阿教會，成為差派跨文化宣道士的母會？」
當和平以「成為萬民的祝福」為教會宗旨時，就表示我們領受了神的呼召「去，使萬民做我的門徒」，深信神會親自幫助我們去完成「神的託付」。
神已經預備了人--願意去的、願意支持的，我們目前要做的，應該就是put everything together。這過程，相信一切有神的預備與帶領，深願我們不錯過神所賞賜的任何機會。

The God led them out of Egypt and forty years he endured them in the wilderness. He had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan and gave them their land as an inheritance, for about four hundred and fifty years.
Jerusalem and their rulers did not know that he is the Savior and asked Pilate to have him put to death. But God raised him from death.
When the Jews saw the crows, they were filled with jealousy.
But Gentiles were glad and praised the Lord's message, and were filled with the Holy Spirit.
It's not easy to preach cross culture. And we must respect their original belief one another. This work need to manage in long term.

Paul told the Jews about the message of salvation, but some leaders of Jews couldn't take it seriously and showed lukewarmness. They did so out of jealousy; they couldn't tolerate Paul and Barnabas won more popularity from the public than they did.
In fact, when a task is to be done for the purpose of gospel, who finishes it doesn't matter. What counts is it is to be carried out for the Lord's sake.

Peter was kept in prison, but the believers of the church were praying earnestly to Lord for him.
And then, the Lord has sent his angel and rescued him from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.
He described to other believers how the Lord had brought him out of the prison.
When Peter encountered this disaster, the other believers prayed for him and an angle rescued him. But some believers were persecuted by King Herod.
The Lord used different methods to lead us depended on our confidences.

「雅各被殺；彼得被囚、獲救出獄」，誠如牧師所言「在這裡我們看見上帝對於每一個使徒的一生與生死，都有不同的計畫與帶領。」

彼得經過重重關卡，出到獄外才明白神所做的，為他禱告的眾信徒也是。求主幫助我，不要讓我有限的信心，限制了神無限的作為。

The vision enabled Peter to make sure he was not alone in realizing the tasks assigned by the Lord, ""Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting" (Ac 12:11).
When Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church. The earnest prayer played an important role in the event. Rhoda as well as other fellow members, unfortunately, was not confident enough to believe their prayer worked (12: 13-15). We should always hold strong faith and when the prayer is answered, show gratitude.

Antioch featured the involvement of the Jews and the Gentiles. In Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians (Ac 11:26). Christianity then crosses the boundary of race, culture, and even languages, uniting all the people.

"You know very well that a Jew is not allowed by his religion to visit or associate with Gentiles. But GOD has shown me that I must not consider any person ritually unclean or defiled. And so when you invited me to do something, I came without any objection."
I hope that if the LORD call me do anything, I can just say"I do"
But He must clearly tell me what to do.

"God has shown me that I should not call any man unholy or unclean. That is why I came without even raising any objection when I was sent for" (Ac 10:28-29). Peter was not open-minded enough in the very beginning to spread the gospel to the Gentiles. Yet with the reminder from the Holy Spirit, he was astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. So there should not be any discrimination against the Gentiles. Gospel is for everybody.
