God's promise to David shows that He is faithful. He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations… (Ps 105:8) On the other hand, if David had not followed the terms of this covenant or had not taken the prophet Nathan's words seriously, he may not have prospered in everything he did.

Why sometimes we're not given what we ask from God is because He would promise us greater blessing. I wish to learn from David, who always remembered to express grateful thanks before and after receiving grace.
