Adam listened to his wife and ate from the tree which the Lord commanded that he must not eat. He didn't make clear the situation and owed his fault to his wife.

Man is to err, which is inherited from Adam and Eve. But if one is brave enough to confess or to be frank, he/she is worthy to be forgiven. What we can learn from Adam is that the consequences of not submitting to the Lord are severe and the forbidden fruit tastes bitter.
