The Lord expects us to be holy to Him and He has set us apart from the nations to be His own (Le 20:26). Thus, he imposes punishments for the sin on the improper sexual relationship (20: 10-21). The aim is to emphasize the commitment between a couple, to strengthen His people's spiritual health, and to avoid sexually transmitted infections.

We tend to forget the seriousness and tragedies the sin on sex may bring about. The Lord enacts these tight regulations for the benefit of us.
