Jesus Christ has laid a foundation for us. With the grace God has given us, we try our best to be an expert builder based on the foundation. The quality of our work will be tested by fire.

The grace we receive precedes our work. Whether we build up survives or burn up our work has nothing to do with what God intends to grant us. All that counts is what material we use to build on the foundation. Is it gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw?
